Bookmarking System
I touched on bookmarks twice in previous posts. The first was with storing interesting stuff, and how I didn’t have a good system, which led to me trying out Raindrop.io, Shiori and Shaarli, Nextcloud Bookmarks, and then Logseq. I was happy with my Logseq setup, but later decided to switch my approach to a Link Garden. Which I was satisfied with, and I do like having a public repository of sorts for my bookmarks. However, I recently became reacquainted with linkding, and it’s got me thinking…
Micro Blog Update
As I mentioned in my recent posts, I had a test Micro Blog up to archive some toots from my Mastodon account, but I had only recently managed to populate it with the vast majority of my Public toots. In this short post, I’ll go into my thinking behind the whole endeavour, what the test was like, and why I changed it.
How I Archive Toots
The Mastodon server I use recently experienced some technical issues, which we could all still talk to each other on the local feed (and our toots seem to be reaching people outside of our instance), we could not see toots incoming, and our notifications were also broken.
But, as we could still access our data, many of us backed ours up using the Export function from the preferences section on a web browser. However, once we have our data, what can be done with it? In this post, I’ll go through the process of how I archive my toots using my Mac.
RSS and Newsletters
I recently talked about how I looked into Omnivore, and mentioned in passing how it didn’t connect to RSS feeds, and I realised I had not discussed how I access my RSS feeds. So, in this post, I’ll be going through my journey with RSS, and where I’ve landed up, as well as how I decided to read newsletters, and what this means to the Omnivore set up.
Music Organisation - March 2023
Since my post on this subject from last year, a few things have happened which have made me rethink about the way I have organised my music collection. In this post, I will go over the changes, and what I used to try to improve my music library.
